Nomad

Not sure how to start this but hey, I am now living my University life here in Sydney, Australia!

First question first, my O's results was actually isn't that bad. I failed Maths (okay, it is bad) but I did well on the rest of the subjects. Two distinctions, two Bs and two Cs. Ain't that bad right? Unfortunately my results will not grant me any entry to Singapore's top notch junior colleges or polytechnics therefore, I made my choice to move to the land of kangaroos, koalas and wombats.

How's life here? So-so.

I live in a dorm-like apartment, in which I need to cook my own food, wash my dishes, do all the laundry and clean my bedroom and all. It's a bit unappealing at first but as time goes by I realised that I /HAVE/ to cook if I want to save money. I am now living in a place where nasi goreng costs me around $10 a plate. A very quick way to burn my wallet, I know.

Fortunately, I live very near from my campus. 10-15 minutes walk if I'm not too lazy or 20 minutes walk if I decided to be a Jessica Jung. I can even take the bus if I want to. There's a bus stop right in front of my dorm but the buses here are damn expensive as well. They have this card; My Bus 1, My Bus 2, and My Bus 3 and they're all different in terms of usage. My Bus 1 is for short distance ride, My Bus 2 is for not so short but no so far either distance ride and My Bus 3 is of course, for a very long distance ride. What's the most annoying part of these cards? The prices.

My Bus 1 Travel Ten card will cost you around AUSD $17 each and that's like freaking SGD $25 for a 10 short distance ride with a bus! I used to take the bus when I still live in Singapore last year although I can walk to school for 15-20 minutes but hey, the government was nice enough to give me a concession card. Here in Sydney, I can't chiong all the way to school with a bus since it's really expensive and I can save that money to buy food to prevent myself from starving to death. In conclusion, life gets a bit complicated here.

My cooking skill has improved tremendously and I'm proud of it. I'm starting to cook my own lunch and dinner and luckily my flatmate is nice (and patient) enough to teach me how to cook simple things. By next week I'm pretty sure she'll teach me more complicated and odd dishes.

So anyway that's it. I'll post some pictures for my next post that will probably be up in an hour or so. I have a very limited internet connection here (18GB/month) so yeah I won't be around that much.

Sad life, no more HD video files for me :(

V.I.U.

Updates!

I had my Mother Tongue O's Oral Exam yesterday.

And it was a mess.

Well no, not really. I managed to read the passage without any problems but the conversation was slightly... absurd. I stumbled most of my words and I just blurted out everything. They asked me questions about healthy foods (which was rather easy but I thought they're going to ask something more ~serious~ so this question caught me off guard), dieting, etc. It's such a shame that I forgot to talk about Yuri's recent diet. I mean, if I talked about it, it'll be a great example that I can use for the question. But meh my mind went blank so in the end I just said anything that came into my mind sobs.

Another update is umm... I'm wearing a spectacles now.

Sadly most of my schoolmates thought that I'm using it for ~style~ instead of because of my degree. I need to tell them that I can't see properly and this specs I'm using is not a fashion item. Wina told me I'll look like a geek with specs on but yeah she IS true. I look like a dork!

Last but not least, the most exciting update will be....

ALL ABOUT FREAKING FLAWLESS GIRLS' GENERATION IS OUT!!!!!!

I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN WILL MY COPY OF THIS GLORIOUS DVD WILL REACH MY DOORSTEP BUT OMG!!!!! IT'S FINALLY OUT!!!!!

720 minutes footage + reality shows + mvs + etc of them, cramped in 6 dvds. And also another 40pgs photobook consisting of breathtaking photos of them. Man, this video will be my perfect getaway from school. I can just go to sleep, wake up in the morning, watch the whole 11 hours DVD, and go back to sleep again. Simple. How I wish I can have that kind of lifestyle everyday lol.

Anyway, I'm meeting oppars tomorrow. B2ST is throwing their very first fanmeeting event in Singapore and I'm very glad that I'll be there to attend it.

Marketing strategy your ass?

Apparently one psycho guy sent couple of coffins to media agencies yesterday and that includes to someone I know really well in my life.

I was startled, surprised, SHOCKED, when I received the picture of this coffin. It was still in the box, half opened so that I can see a glimpse of it. It was brown, big, and complete with the "Rest In Peace" words carved on the wood.

What the fuck.

First thing first, I came out with an idea that the sender is beyond crazy and stupid. WHO THE HELL IN THE WORLD SENT COFFINS TO SOMEONE WHEN THIS PERSON IS STILL ALIVE AND HEALTHY?

Well after minutes of panicking like a mother who lost her child in the department store (what is this metaphor), I got the news that this 'coffin terror' was just a 'creative' way to promote this mental person's new book. Yes, his book, which I didn't even care to look for the title because the promotion itself scared the hell out of me. Wait, I did take note that the book... is about something marketing, media, whatever, being killed by the new era, or whatsoever... Gosh. I'm just too lazy to search for the title but I remembered that it is about something being killed by something and there's a "RIP" written somewhere in the title as well.

Apparently the person chose to sent coffins as to attract the medias' attention due to its very 'creative' method. Sorry to say, but this method is just too grotesque. Sending coffins to people without any announcement will only make you look like you're terrorizing the medias. You can pull something less obnoxious than that. Isn't coffins' expensive as well? Sigh, the next time you want to launch a book about elephants, make sure you ship three elephants to me.

Talk about marketing strategies, I kind of... got tricked by Pringles yesterday.

The "Big Can" basically, is just the same with the normal can. There's nothing in between the yellow part of the can lol the chips start to accumulate from the green part all the way to the bottom part of the can. This is a bit irrelevant but I kind of find this to be interesting. Just like when I first found out that Mcdonalds' only gives us a bit of Pepsi yet loads of ice blocks in our cups.

I was like 6 years old when I discovered that.

No Worries

I went out to town to watch Lion King The Musical (or just simply, The Lion King) today.

I watched it once when I was in London last December, so technically I watched the same thing just now. But, they kind of changed some of the scenarios.

I didn't remember the actors said "Ni hao" or "Xie xie" when I was in London. The actors who I presumed were British actually said some of the common Singlish words during their performance.

And there was this scene when Timon tried to convince Simba to 'hakuna matata' and suddenly he said,
"Ya, hakuna matata, no worry lah."

It cracked me up.

Wait, it cracked the WHOLE theater up.

Anyway....

One of my bestie from Jakarta, aka Archie is currently in Singapore. The last time he went to Singapore was like 6 years ago and he told me that he's "buta singapur".  We went around HMV and I found some awesome goodies in HMV. Too bad they overpriced the price again.

For those VIPs who's currently living in Singapore, 313's Uniqlo restocked their Big Bang x Uniqlo collection. They discounted the price as well. I remembered I bought one for $25 last January and now they sell them for only $19.90. I tried to find Taeyang, Seungri and G-Dragon's XS size shirt but the staff told me all of them are sold out :(

I'm looking forward for an awesome, long weekend.
