Nomad

Not sure how to start this but hey, I am now living my University life here in Sydney, Australia!

First question first, my O's results was actually isn't that bad. I failed Maths (okay, it is bad) but I did well on the rest of the subjects. Two distinctions, two Bs and two Cs. Ain't that bad right? Unfortunately my results will not grant me any entry to Singapore's top notch junior colleges or polytechnics therefore, I made my choice to move to the land of kangaroos, koalas and wombats.

How's life here? So-so.

I live in a dorm-like apartment, in which I need to cook my own food, wash my dishes, do all the laundry and clean my bedroom and all. It's a bit unappealing at first but as time goes by I realised that I /HAVE/ to cook if I want to save money. I am now living in a place where nasi goreng costs me around $10 a plate. A very quick way to burn my wallet, I know.

Fortunately, I live very near from my campus. 10-15 minutes walk if I'm not too lazy or 20 minutes walk if I decided to be a Jessica Jung. I can even take the bus if I want to. There's a bus stop right in front of my dorm but the buses here are damn expensive as well. They have this card; My Bus 1, My Bus 2, and My Bus 3 and they're all different in terms of usage. My Bus 1 is for short distance ride, My Bus 2 is for not so short but no so far either distance ride and My Bus 3 is of course, for a very long distance ride. What's the most annoying part of these cards? The prices.

My Bus 1 Travel Ten card will cost you around AUSD $17 each and that's like freaking SGD $25 for a 10 short distance ride with a bus! I used to take the bus when I still live in Singapore last year although I can walk to school for 15-20 minutes but hey, the government was nice enough to give me a concession card. Here in Sydney, I can't chiong all the way to school with a bus since it's really expensive and I can save that money to buy food to prevent myself from starving to death. In conclusion, life gets a bit complicated here.

My cooking skill has improved tremendously and I'm proud of it. I'm starting to cook my own lunch and dinner and luckily my flatmate is nice (and patient) enough to teach me how to cook simple things. By next week I'm pretty sure she'll teach me more complicated and odd dishes.

So anyway that's it. I'll post some pictures for my next post that will probably be up in an hour or so. I have a very limited internet connection here (18GB/month) so yeah I won't be around that much.

Sad life, no more HD video files for me :(
